Alhasil, lewat perjuangan panjang selama 45 menit, akhirnya Praveen/Melati bisa meraih kemenangan dua game langsung 23-21, 21-18. Khusus berpasangan dengan Melatih, ini merupakan kemenangan pertama Praveen atas pasangan suami istri tersebut dari tiga pertemuan.

Sebelumnya ketika saat berpasangan dengan Vita Marissa, skor pertemuan Praveen dengan Duo Adcock adalah 0-1. Dengan Debby Susanto, Praveen tercatat lima kali kalah.
Di perempat final, Praveen/Melati sudah ditunggu pasangan Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying . Pasangan Malaysia tersebut sebelumnya berhasil menumbangkan pasangan Taiwan
