Bahkan, ia mengklaim total uangnya di rekeningnya hanya tersisa 600 poundsterling atau sekitar Rp11,09 juta. Nominal yang amat mengenaskan untuk pesepak bola Eropa.
Alhasil, Asamoah Gyan tak bisa memberikan nafkah untuk keluarganya. Menurut laporan Mirror, ia ternyata sudah tidak pernah memberi kabar istrinya, Gifty, serta ketiga anaknya sejak Agustus lalu. Tidak hanya itu, mantan striker Sunderland tersebut juga tidak merespon jika ada panggilan telepon dari sang istri.
Meski demikian, Asamoah Gyan belum mengklarifikasi kabar tersebut. Ia hanya bercerita kini uang di rekening sudah sangat menipis.
“Anda bisa melihat bahwa uang saya hanya menyentuh angka 600 pound saja, tidak kurang tidak lebih,” kata Asamoah seperti dikutip dari Mirror, Sabtu (29/12/2018).
Kondisi yang tengah dialami Asamoah Gyan tentu berbanding terbalik dengan apa yang sempat ia pamerkan beberapa tahun silam. Semasa masih bermain untuk klub asal Uni Emirates Arab, Shabab Al Ahli, ia sempat memamerkan mobil berlapis emas.
