Kemenangan Pacers atas Cavs tak terlepas dari kegemilangan Victor Oladipo. Pemain berusia 25 tahun itu menjadi pencetak poin terbanyak bagi Pacers dengan 32 poin.
Di kubu Cavs, LeBron menjadi pemain dengan poin terbanyak dengan 24 poin. Sayangnya, kerja keras James gagal diikuti rekan-rekannya yang tak mampu menyumbang lebih dari 15 poin.
Kekalahan ini membuat Cavs harus bekerja keras di gim kedua playoff NBA 2018. Beruntung, gim kedua masih akan berlangsung di markas mereka, Quicken Loans Arena.
Pertandingan kuarter pertama berlangsung kurang mengenakkan bagi Cavs. James dan kawan-kawan cuma bisa meraih 14 poin. Sebaliknya, Pacers mampu berjaya dengan mencetak 33 poin.
Cavs baru bangkit di kuarter kedua dengan menambah 24 poin.Torehan poin Cavs diawali dengan tiga poin George Hill usai mendapat umpan dari LeBron James.
Sayangnya, kengototan Cavs mengejar poin Pacers tak diiringi dengan pertahanan yang bagus. Akibatnya, Pacers tetap bisa menambah 22 poin dan menutup kuarter kedua dengan keunggulan 55-38.
Kuarter Ketiga dan Keempat
Cavs kembali mencoba peruntungan mereka di kuarter ketiga. Namun selisih poin dengan Pacers justru sempat melebar menjadi 20 poin.
Pada akhirnya, torehan poin Pacers tetap tak terkejar. Cavs hanya bisa memperkecil ketinggalan menjadi 65-73 lewat tembakan bebas James saat pertandingan kuarter ketiga tinggal 39 detik lagi.
Stamina Cavs tampaknya sudah habis di kuarter keempat. Ini membuat Pacers leluasa mencetak poin. Total, Oladipo dan kawan-kawan menambah 25 poin di kuarter ini dan pada akhirnya meraih kemenangan.
