“Sebagai pelatih [Barcelona], ini sudah berakhir. Saya tidak sama, atau bahkan mereka tidak melihat saya dengan cara yang sama,” katanya.
“Saya berada di usia yang fantastis di mana saya mengambil alih dunia,” sambung Guardiola.
Menurut Guardiola, saat itu bukan hanya para pemain hebat saja yang membantunya juara. Tim Blaugrana juga mendapat sokongan total dari berbagai pihak.
“Kami mengambil alih dunia dengan beberapa pemain luar biasa, seorang presiden muda (Joan Laporta), Txiki (Begiristain)… Itu adalah generasi pemain brutal dan pemain terbaik di dunia (Lionel Messi). Para pemain bintang berdiri sejajar,” terangnya.
Setelah menangani Barcelona, Guardiola kemudian berpetualang ke Jerman untuk menangani Bayern Munchen. Selama tiga tahun, ia sukses meraih tujuh gelar juara.
